Common Name - Latin

Post by duxbury rambler »

How do most people feel about this and be honest, not biased by who we think are our peers.

We need Latin but I am a firm believer that we need to bring people into the nature fold not frighten them away. :?

Opus sum firma fidelis latine populus ferre debemus in natura non ovile abigat.

Why the question, Carol? I thought the 'establishment' was making great efforts to provide common names, particularly for such things as Dragonflies (Odonata) and Mushrooms (Fungi), which have previously been referred to mainly by their scientific (latin) names by the experts.
