Flocks, hail, icy rain, blue pauses and wonder....

c100 fieldfare, small flocks of starlings c200 then an enormous undulating mass of several thousand birds, flock of c15 meadow pipits, similar sized flock of ?larks, f kestrel, pied wagtail, stonechat, kingfisher (1 or 2), several chaffinch, great tits, blackbirds, crows, magpies. Then-

several hundred starlings rushed up the path behind me, peeled in from the right and for a few seconds I was in the middle of a wave of birds flying over and around me and I could feel the undulating excitedness that connected them - and me. WOW!
