Withnell Fold +Scrapes

A wander along the canal and down by the reserve gave the following:-

Canal; Mallard 13, Kingfisher 1, Goldfinch 15 overhead, Cormorant 1 - in usual tree by lodge - Raven 1 sitting top of dead tree near cormorant, Speckled Wood 1, Brown Hawker 1.

Scrapes, Mallard 5, Moorhen 3, BH Gulls 4, approx 200 Jackdaw and 100 Rooks across all surrounding fields, Woodpigeon 7

Reserve, Heron 1, Goldfinch 2, Moorhen 1, Jays, Magpies, Robin, Wren, Great Tit, Blue Tit several heard and seen, Brown Hawker 1.

Also all along good numbers of Swallows - many drifting through but some feeding permanently over lodge plus a few House Martins moving through - would estimate at least a 100+ Swallows seen in a couple of hours moving through
