White Coppice
Hedge Cutter cutting the hedge on both sides of Chapel Lane this morning. Birds seen. Blackbirds. Chaffinch. Woodpigeons. 1 Pheasant. Robins, some collecting food. B/G LT Tits. Mallards. Coot feeding 1 chick. Grey and Pied Wagtail. 2 Wrens. A pair of Stonechats with a single Juvenile. 1 Song Thrush. Willow Warblers. 2 Herons flying together and 1 sat on a dead tree. several Swallows. 1 Kestrel. 1 Reed Bunting carrying food. Meadow Pipits. 3 Blackcaps and a single Curlew over.

23 singing Willow warblers were counted on a walk from White Coppice to Heatherlea Woods this morning - a similar number to last year. far fewer were Whitethroat 1, Chiffchaff 3 and Blackcap 3. Best bird though was a singing Redstart alongside the Goit. Also encountered were Grey Heron, Curlew, Cuckoo, Swallow, Goldcrest, Nuthatch at regular nest site, LT Tit flock, Song Thrush 4, Dipper, Lesser Redpoll and Reed Bunting.

I wasn't 100% sure yesterday but I thought I saw the Redstart flying into a tree were the building is near the bridge crossing the Goit into Heatherlea Wood.
