Wymott Ponds Area

Post by 1swallow »

Routine visit today. Around 50 bIrd species is normally attainable in a 3 to 4 hour stint this time of year and so it proved to be this morning.

The Little Grebes were difficult to see again. I could hear the chicks calling, but couldn’t see the parent birds. The vegetation where they are is just too dense to see through.

Unusually the Grasshopper Warbler was reeling away mid-morning close to the old landfill site entrance. Only 1 identifiable butterfly observed - 1 Small White.
