A single Whimbrel was in a field near Culbeck house farm this morning, 2 Willow warbler. Mistle Thrush and c15 Jackdaw were in the same area.
Elsewhere 5 adult Lapwing had a minimum of 2 chicks hiding in the long grass.
It was heartening to see my first big hirundine flock of the year, roughly 60-80 House Martin were feeding along the River Yarrow with c10 Sand Martin and one or two Swallows
other sightings, Blackcap. 4. Goldcrest 4. Yellowhammer. Kestrel. Buzzard 2.
