Great Knowley & Tanhouse Brook Valley/woods

Birds seen/heard - Skylark heard briefly yesterday and today above the forner quarry. Two Pheasant, one of which keeps coming into the garden.

Blackbird, Woodpigeon and Collared Dove all nesting the garden hedges.

Tanhouse Brook Valley/woods - At least 6 singing Chiffchaff, 5 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit, 2 Long Tailed Tit, 2 Coal Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 2 Magpie, several Woodpigeon, 1 Chaffinch heard, 3 Blackbird. No sign of Willow Warblers or Blackcap yet.

Butterflies - At least 4 Peacock butterlies and 3 Small Tortoiseshell.

Flora - Great Horsetail over former quarry.
