Not the times you have put on your posts but the automatic time the webpage has logged your post (to the right of your name). I will raise it with Mark Fishwick.
Re: Common Scoter
Hmm I've checked the board time settings and they appear correct.
It's worth checking your own time settings in your Control Panel?
EDIT - Checked, this post is correct at 9.37am.

Re: Common Scoter
I spent 20 minutes outside last night but didn't hear anything. I think it was during the quiet spell, Ian!

Re: Common Scoter
Seems like the movement has been the last couple of nights. Tonight might be a tad breezy but Friday could be better. We're looking to put the moth trap out again on Friday night so will be having another good listen.

Re: Common Scoter
Just had around half a hour in my back garden with the half moon shining well , the breeze strong at times and rattling fences as well background traffic sometimes making it difficult to listen but managed to hear 2 lots of scoters , several mallard , canada geese , 2 male and 1 female tawny owl , i wonder what height the scoters are passing over at , thanks for the info Ian .
Common Scoter brings my chorley year list up to 96 species .

Re: Common Scoter
Managed a group of *Common Scoter over Runshaw Hall Lane near Runshaw Hall about 1015.
Like Ian said, it did go quiet after the clouds cleared after 2-3 groups 915-945pm over Leyland.
Also Tawny Owl 1 hooting in Worden Park and a Curlew over.
* Common Scoter takes me to 103 species for the year.

Re: Common Scoter
I heard 3 or 4 groups between 9 and 9.30 pm, most were to the south and faint, probably nearer Ian and Neville, but one I managed to track from west to east as it passed by.
