50+ curlew along back lane was a very good count , 10 chiffchaff in song , pair of yellowhammer along back lane , 2 female goosander ( yarrow, syd brook ) several mallard , 2 teal , 2 snipe , 2 oystercatcher feeding on the cricket field , treecreeper nest buiding in a willow along the yarrow , 3 buzzard , 1 sparrowhawk , 2 redwing feeding on ivy berries , 40 fieldfare disturbed by the hawk , lots of robins , 1 lapwing , no sign of yesterdays yaffle along the yarrow but managed a single sand martin near to st marys church .
