Common Bank Lodge and surrounds

Post by ianball »

This morning before the rain. On the lodge were the 2 Little Grebe, Mute Swan, 7 Moorhen, 3 Coot and the group of Mallard (28) and male Mandarin - which later did their now usual flight north to presumably spend the day on the river. Close encounters with a 2cy male Sparrowhawk (oh to have had my camera! and maybe suggestive of local breeding success last year) and Common Buzzard. Usual mix of small birds - very vocal, including the Willow Tit again, moving between gardens and the woodland edge.
