Sunday afternoon meanderings

Brinscall Lodge 1415hrs: Muscovy Duck (4), Mallard (21, several domestics/hybrids), Canada Geese (4), Moorhen (6), BH Gulls (10). Buzzard (1 over at high altitude).

Heatherlea Woods: very busy with dog walkers etc, relatively quiet re wildlife. Treecreeper (1), GS Woodpecker (1), Robin (1), LTTits (approx 8), Coal Tit (1), Nuthatch (3). Bullfinch (2) feeding on berries from the higher path near White Coppice.

Dean Black Brook: walked up beside the Brook which wasn't as torrential as expected after the recent rain. Wren (4), Woodpigeon (2), Stonechat (2). A Great Tit singing briefly at 1615hrs near where the mature trees start. Another GT Tit and Blue Tit seen. Carrion Crow (2). Reed Bunting (male) in a bush in the same, boggy area as the singing Great Tit.

Approx 100 Fieldfare over flying SE near Drinkwaters, then another flock 25 flying N about 5 mins later 1630hrs.

3 Meadow Pipits seen on moors during walk back to Brinscall. A bat feeding along Well Lane, and Buzzard over the woods quite low (same one as at start of walk?) at 1710hrs
