Yarrow Valley CP

Post by John Frankland »

Been a bit under the weather for a couple of days and so decided on a short walk to try and get me going again.

Main lodge
Mute swan 5, Great Crested Grebe 1, Tufted Duck 16, Coot 10+

Top Lodge
Mute Swan 2, Grey Heron 1 and great feeding views of a *Water Rail.

May not have made me feel much better physically but did put a bit of a smile on my face and take me to 144 species for the year.

Get better soon John. I like Water Rails (and other things that skulk about unobtrusively), they have such a distinctive squealing call...

Cheers Jed. Nothing too bad and definitely on the mend !

The Water Rail gave some great views which included it swimming across a small piece of water and catch a small fish which was nice to see.
