Highlight was a male merlin flying straight at me giving incredible views ( you forget how small these mini falcons are ! ) also 3 stonechat ( 2f 1 m ) , 3 grey partidge skulking in the stubble , 4 mistle thrush , song thrush high overhead , 3 yellowhammer , 3 greenfinch , tree sparrows heard , 3 snipe , 2 kestrel , 1 buzzard , 50 linnet , small numbers of skylark and meadow pipit , pinkfoot everywhere , .

Similar sightings including another *Merlin - mine was a female though so 2 there today with Gary’s male.

4-6 Buzzard and 3 Kestrel too.

Also 4 Large White and 1 Red Admiral

* Merlin takes me to 143 species for the year, my highest score beating last year. :D
