Couldn’t decide east or west this morning but picked east by turning left out of the road !
And a good choice it was too heading to Winter Hill for 8am.
One of the first birds I saw on the Chorley side was a female/juvenile * Black Redstart on the main mast building. Seen again at the back of the building and showed well.
Also 3 Stonechat, 2f Wheatear, 2 Meadow Pipit, 2 Red Grouse, 1 Kestrel and 440 Pink footed geese over in a c40 SE and a c400 S.
* 1 more takes me to 142 species for the year.

Re: Winter Hill
Another skein of c100 Pink footed Geese over about 910am from George’s Lane was probably the same one as Len saw.
Also 3 Swallow near Abbey Village and 40 each of Teal and Mallard on Belmont Reservoir.
