Couple of visits today at lunchtime and evening. Lunchtime sitings as per Paul's, but by this evening the 8 wigeon had left, leaving 4 gadwall, multiple mallard and a single teal on main flood. Counted 65 greylag with the Canada and 4 hybrid types including 2 barnacle-like birds. A scan of several hundred gulls revealed only LBB, Herring and black-headed in various year plumages. No waders (snipe aside) yet, but the waters need to recede first.

Wigeon takes Chorley species total for the year to 135

No sign of Paul’s earlier godwits or plovers early evening.

Of note, Greylags were up to c60 outnumbering the c30 Canadas.

Plenty of gulls and still some Coot. Couple of Buzzard and Jessy the Kestrel.

11.00 am visit.
14 Black-tailed Godwits flew in from the west and landed in the flooded field by the Yarrow.
6 Golden Plover flew in low from the same direction but I didn't see them land.
2 very small unidentifed waders circled high over the main flood, but also didn't land.

Gadwall 2. Mallard c30. Grey Heron 2. Pied Wagtail 5. Grey Wagtail. Buzzard 2. Kestrel 2 (including Jessy)
Geese numbers similar to John's

Black-tailed Godwit takes my score to 126
