I called in after viewing the Red Necked Phalarope at Marshside and walked along the River Douglas from Rufford Station to Great close and back.
Birds seen/heard - 2 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, 24 Meadow Pipit, a pair of Stonechat, Woodpigeon, Magpie, Jay heard, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow; 1 Mallard, 1 Goosander (f) and 2 Moorhen on the river Douglas. The only waders were a couple of Snipe that I flushed.
Lepidoptera - 6+ Large White Butterflies, but no sign of the Clouded Yellow.
Odonata - 4+ Common Darter.
