Lead mine Clough/ Holt's flat

Post by Paul Hodson »

Evening stroll 5.30-7.45.
A female/immature Marsh harrier was a nice surprise this evening, the bird seemed to approach from the direction of Belmont and circled low around the Holt's flat area for a while before disappearing from view.
Other sightings.
Several Coal tit and a couple of Goldcrest in the Holt's flat plantation, small numbers of Swallow and House Martin overhead, Tawny Owl calling from Wilkinson's Bullough as it was going dark.

Fox at Limestone Clough.

Common Hawker dragonfly and a few million midges

A dozen or so Puffballs near the bomber memorial
