Croston/mawdesley moss .

Around 10 snipe , heard lapwing in the fading light , 5 pinkfoot looked to land but moved on , hen pheasant with several well grown young , chiffchaff calling , 1 possible white wagtail , 1 barn owl hunting late on , 20 meadow pipit with 2 skylark , 1 buzzard , the highlight of the night was the mallard fest ! around 100 birds dropped in on to the large flooded wheat field in the fading light , birds were coming from all directions and heights ( a steady flow for 20 mins ) several snipe buzzing around , spotted what looked like a shoveler feeding amongst the hoards of mallard great viewing :D :D .
