Anglezarke Moors

Star bird of the day was a Hobby hunting over the moors for half an hour at midday, seemed to be catching insects and eating them on the wing: another sighting a couple of hours later over Lead mine Clough was possibly the same bird.
2 family parties of Stonechat, a male with 2 juveniles at Great Hill farm and a pair with 3 juveniles on Sam's pasture.
30-40 Goldfinch feeding on thistle heads at Great Hill farm and another 10-15 at Holt's flat.
Also in the Holt's flat plantation were several Coal tit and 2 Goldcrest.

Meadow Pipit c80. Wheatear 2. Swallow 8. Raven 2. Kestrel. Buzzard. Red Grouse

White Coppice.
Dipper. Chiffchaff 2-3 singing quietly. House Martin 20-30.

Insects.
Painted Lady 2. Red Admiral. Peacock.

Common Hawker. Black Darter 2.
