Great shots Peter.

To add to your insect Tally, I saw Purple Hairstreak Butterfly (being attacked by a wasp) found below the oak trees at Pets Corner and a Tachnid Fly (Tachina fera) on the flowers behind our exhibition tent. Also a Common Hawker Dragonfly.

Peter
The "Volucella zonaria Possible first for Chorley." -have you been able to confirm if this a new species for our area? I only ask as it could be a point to make in any publicity we send to the media

Peter
Many thanks -obviously an uncommon species (though comparatively few people recording insects too).
