6 species of wader this evening !
Green Sandpiper 1 heard near Douglas
Ringed Plover 2 (1A, 1juv) on Great Close Flood
Dunlin 3 joined the 2 Ringed Plover in flight as they departed west but didn’t see where they arrived from
Lapwing 5
Greenshank 5 (1+4) on Alma Wood flood
Black Tailed Godwit 12 over Alma Wood flood SW towards Martin Mere.
Also seen were 200 gulls mainly LBB and Herring
5-6 Kestrel. 2 Buzzard. 15 Alba wagtails (missed the Yellow seen by Neville through his scope).
Cuckoo still present.
20-30 House Martin/Swallow.
Left Neville about 730 seeing if he could add to the list !

5.45-8.30pm - nothing to really add to John's update, except for a (presumably) additional godwit that rose alarm-calling with the herring and lesser blacks from the rough field the other side of the twin hedge from Great Close, as the gulls made their evening commute towards the coast (8.15pm). Also grey partridge towards dusk.
Dunlin and ringed plover take Chorley species total for the year to 133.

definitely a godwit John, alarm call and wing markings gave it away (much as I would like it to be morphed into a dowitcher!), I was wondering whether it was one of the dozen we saw earlier on the other side of the railway.
