3.45 to 5.45pm
Most birds seen in the area to the north of Alma Wood, including the floods.
Cuckoo seen several times, last in the trees next to the level crossing. Singles of Curlew and Greenshank and 2 flighty Green Sandpiper. 2 Golden Plover in flight to the west of the railway.
Two flocks of Wagtail. First flock contained 1 Yellow Wagtail and c10 Pied Wagtail. Second flock in muddy field was c20 'alba' with at least half a dozen White Wagtail identified.
3 Kestrel and 2 Buzzard.
Flocks of Linnet (c30) and Goldfish (c20) and a single Skylark.
2 Swift in addition to the House Martins and Swallows.
Gull numbers over 100 - mainly LBB.

Yellow Wagtail, Greenshank and Green Sandpiper takes me to 124 for the year.

Planned to spend more time on the moss this morning but cut short due to heavy showers, but did see the Juvenile Cuckoo sat in a dead tree before flying off. Thanks Garry for the general area. 2 Female and 1 Male Wheatear seen over the last couple of days with several Kestrels, Finches, 1 Yellowhammer, Woodpigeons, Stock Doves. 2 Greenshank, 3 Swifts and a couple of Swallows. A Buck Roe deer showed well running along the field and a vole ran across the path. Painted Lady and small Whites flying around. Lots of Slugs on the paths.
