Red Grouse heard calling from both Anglezarke and Withnell moors.
Stonechat with 3 juveniles on Dean Black Brook.
Grasshopper Warbler reeling very quietly near Drinkwaters.
Tawny Owl calling at White Coppice.
Painted Lady on Round Loaf.

Paul - I thought I saw you in the distance as you were descending to White Coppice, we must have missed each other by a few minutes. I walked up the Hill from Brinscall last night 1940 hrs, back by 2145hrs. Lots of Meadow Pipits, Red Grouse heard too. Didn't hear the Grasshopper Warbler at Drinkwaters. Juv Wheatear on the path down to Brinscall in the dusk light.
Could see the Isle of Man clearly without bins, a rare occurrence. That's about 85 miles away...
