Road victim large hedgehog, Botany Brow/Northgate Drive this morning.

Dead hedgehog on Botany Brow this evening near the m/way bridge.

3 dead hedgehogs seen whilst driving through Croston this morning; a very small one on Highfield road; an adult near Meadow lane bridge and another near Great Hanging bridge

Depressing reading, on a lighter note although there are fewer Hares in the fields around they still pay us the compliment each year of birthing in our Brindle garden, this year it is twins, one very precocious and seen every day, the other behaving just like a young Hare should and only showing occasionally, they are both thriving as are the Hedgehogs which, just to see who’s there we feed only occasionally as I have reservations about undue feeding of naturally healthy populations

Small hedgehog road victim George St near Lyons Lane roundabout -obviously still around in scrubby area close to railway station.

2 very live ones outside the house last night, seem to do OK on the Gillibrand estate, with the woods surrounding much of the northern part of it providing an escape route

Hedge hog seen in garden last night. food & water provided nightly always taken.Droppings sometimes noted.

Had to stop for a small hedgehog crossing the road on Princess way Euxton early this morning

very small dead Hedgehog on School lane, Brinscall and another small one dead at Withnell Fold, (though how you can go fast enough run over something on such a narrow cobbled street is beyond me)
