Great Knowley sightings

Birds - Great Spotted Woodpecker on the garden feeders yesterday (First one I have seen this year), Grey Heron landed in a neighbour's garden.

Insects - 1 Ringlet butterfly seen on Friday (05.07.19) was the first I have seen at this location, 3 seen here today including one that flew into my garden. 2 Painted Lady Butterflies, 6+ Meadow Brown, 1 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Red Admiral, 1 Large White, 3+ Large Skipper, 2+ Small Skipper, 50+ Burnet Moths (mostly 6-Spot), Yellow Shell Moth, + 2 Moths not yet identified. Common Green Shieldbug (2nd. instar), Meadow Grasshopper, Mason Wasp (Symmorphus gracilis), and several hoverflies including Xanthogramma citrofasciatum, Chalcosyrphus nemorum?, Eristails horticola and Episyrphus baleatus, Common Brown Leaf hopper, 7-Spot Ladybird, 1 or 2 Blue Damselflies.
