Birds seen/heard - 5 Swifts mid afternoon feeding over former quarry area. 9 juvenile and 1 female Pheasant seen from close range (Neil amend the recent sightings of Partridge here to Pheasant). 1 Kestrel. 1 possibly 2 juvenile Siskin seen several times on my garden feeders today.

Lepidoptera - hundreds of Burnet Moths, around 20 Meadow Brown & 3 Large Skipper. 1 Yellow Butterfly seen briefly in the garden, probably a Brimstone.

Odonata - 1 Dragonfly seen over former quarry area mid afternoon (blue bodied) either a Common Hawker or an Emperor.

Other Insects - 1 Ruby Tailed Wasp which was undertaking a thorough search of my greenhouse (looking for solitary bees perhaps)

Flora - 10+ Common Spotted Orchid and 2 Marsh Orchid seen over former quarry.
