Excellent Len -that takes us to 34 bird species on Thurs/Fri with several successfully breeding and together with 30+ flowering plants including three orchids' species plus all the insects, it could be the most significant non-parkland site close to the town centre. Certainly worthy of regular patrolling for finds like dragon and damsel flies and amphibians.

Its a pity the industrial buildings were not made to have living roof tops created , just imagine what wildlife that would attract , it would be so easy to create , cant believe the council let these big companys get away with wiping out huge habitat without giving something back , i know the lagoons and the nature reserve are there but there is so much else they could do .

Gary, an excellent point and the very reason the Committee are trying to get a meeting with the Council Leader. Unfortunately he is somewhat elusive at present.
