Yarrow Valley Park

Post by Neil Southworth »

The new pair of swans has finally hatched a single chick. They still seem to be incubating the other egg so maybe there will be two. The pair of Coot now have five young which are growing well, so will hopefully survive. A female Mallard had 5 fairly new ducklings. The Great Crested Grebe pair are still waiting, and a Grey Wagtail was on the tern raft. A Kingfisher was on Top Lodge, fishing successfully, and Reed Warbler and Chiffchaff were singing. The pair of swans and 4 cygnets seem to be doing well.
