6.00-9.00pm - 3 summer plumaged golden plover (including 1 that came within 20 yds in a rough field), Canada geese (2 amongst the heather), curlew, common snipe (3/4 singing their alternative song, not the drumming one), raptor flying briefly low and fast (possible female merlin), tawny owl (in woods), red grouse (2 heard), wheatear, linnet (3), singing skylark and mipit. Rabbit standing out among the heather.

Over the 2 previous (Hatherlea to High Bullough) evenings among the usuals were displaying tree pipit; sedge, grasshopper and garden warbler (could have been 3 in the dried up lodge), but alas no wood warbler.....yet.
