12.15-1.00pm - garden warbler c.200yds in a hedge down the path from the railway bridge singing and being elusive - on the way back a short time later and in a hawthorn close to the bridge was a garden warbler singing and showing well (as much as a little brown bird can do deep inside a hawthorn tree) - maybe 2 birds or the same one fast tracking it back to see me off. Also present on the northern edge of the reserve were blackcap, c whitethroat, willow warbler, goldfinch, yellowhammer.

Lepidoptera: orange-tip, speckled wood, peacock, small white

Garden warbler takes Chorley species total for the year to 116.
