Out East

Post by Neville Root »

6.45-10.00am - Lead Mines lower end - mostly woodland regulars - nuthatch, tree creeper, Gr-Bl-Coal tit, also grey wag, buzzard calling, curlews overhead.
Dean Clough Wood - similar woodland regulars to Lead Mines.
Ward's Reservoir area - only mallard and Canada geese on the water and only 1 deceased toad on the road (must be the dry weather), snipe drumming distantly towards Winter Hill, 2 groppers reeling in long grass next to road, redpoll (3).
1.00-3.00pm - 11 outstanding magpies at Victory Park!

Gropper and Red List bird takes Chorley species total for the year to 113
