Hoghton Bottoms

Quick visit after Jack Green BBS. Sightings:-
Mallard 3, Pheasant 6, Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon, Grey Heron, Woodpigeon, Jackdaw, Crow, Raven, Sand Martin (min 12), Blue, Great and Coal Tit, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler 4, Blackcap, Robin, Wren, Blackbird, Song Thrush, House Sparrow 4, Pied Wagtail, Grey Wagtail, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Linnet, Bullfinch
Disappointing absence of Lapwing, Oystercatcher and Skylark
Butterflies:- Orange Tip 20-30, Peacock
In flower:- Lesser Celandine, White Dead Nettle, Mayflower, Bluebell, Dandelion, Greater Stitchwort, Cow Parsley

Neil, there are plenty of Lapwing close to Bolton Hall Farm along with a number of Canada Geese and Snipe.
