Hoghton Bottoms - Little Egret

Post by Paul King »

Had a quick look at Hoghton Bottoms and the first bird seen was a Little Egret!

Lots of Buzzard, a Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Raven, Tawny Owl, Nuthatches, Grey Wagtail, Common Sandpiper, Wrens, 2 Grey Heron, Robins, Great, Blue, Coal and LT Tits, Chiffchaff, Blackcaps and many more!

Lovely day and saw a dozen Chub together and a few butterflies.
The Great Outdoors..... How Great is that! :-)

That is brilliant. Between Hoghton Bottoms and Samlesbury Bottoms (the Chorley side) I see Kingfisher daily and last week saw an Otter. One of my neighbours saw an Otter feeding on a large Chubb last week.
