Winter Hill and George’s Lane

Post by John Frankland »

Early start up Winter Hill in the hope of Wheatear.

First bird seen on the Chorley side at 730am was the white rump of a *Wheatear by the mast building although lost to view. A second at 820am was a fine male which gave a great view.

Also Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Kestrel and Pied Wagtail.

On George’s Lane, 3 Redpoll just on the Manchester side were followed by 2 singles of *Redpoll on the Chorley side to bring up my century at 850am :D

Also a single Crossbill heard flying over but not seen.

* 2 more brings me to 100 species for the year.
