Croston twin lakes / sewage works area .

Evening visit in warm sunshine with lots of flying insects about but no hirundines , on the lakes where a good count of 11 gc grebes , just 1 female tufted duck , small numbers of coot moorhen , mallard and canada geese , 2 singing chiffchaff ( 1 at the back of the second lake , 1 near to croston reedbed , ) 2 oystercatcher , bh gulls passing over , 2 reed bunting , great views of a male sparrowhawk hunting low over the rape fields before attacking the sewage works were it scattered 10+ pied wagtails .
