Newt and sunbathers

Post by phil kirk »

Smooth Newt found in our garden pond yesterday while I was removing some of the leaves that I should have removed two months ago. Only the second we have seen in 40 years here. Frogs getting frisky but no spawn yet.

Also yesterday a Small Tortoiseshell sunning itself. We had a Peacock basking in the sun the day before yesterday.

Still getting a pair of Bramblings.

Wrote too soon. Frogspawn in front and back ponds this morning. I did say the frogs were getting frisky!
