Gillibrand - Great Hill - Brinscall - Abbey Village

Post by Neville Root »

Morning mountain bike ride in some very blustery conditions - only a mipit seen on the moors. On Brinscall pond there were 6 goosander and a feral greylag amongst the usual Canadas, mallards and BH Gulls. On the path through Withnell LNR - jackdaw (20+), moorhen (2), collared dove, house sparrow (10+), L redpoll (4), good numbers of Gt - Bl - LT - coal tit, chaffinch, reed bunting.

Greylag and collared dove take Chorley species total for the year to 91.

I don't suppose they are, and don't imagine they are rare in your garden either! :D
