Whittle-le-Woods Woodcock

After looking for several months finally managed to find a Woodcock along Lucas Lane, Whittle-le-Woods. Moved to area a year ago and fields at bottom end look perfect for Woodcock. During this morning's dog walk one fluttered up and over Preston Road heading towards Preston Road.

I second Gary's comment. Top bird! Hopefully the males will be roding again above Heatherlea Woods, Brinscall, later in Spring, with the females calling from the undergrowth.
