Plenty of birds about in the frost , chaffinches , redwings , 2 bullfinch , 1 nuthatch , song thrush , 1 heron , 1 grey wagtail , 1 kingfisher , highlight was flushing a woodcock out of deep cover ( it somehow flew up vertically through the thick blackthorn bushes ) .
