Lower Healey

Post by Neil Southworth »

Very little on the lodges. Just 5 Coot and 4 Moorhen and a dozen Mallard. Both lodges were being fished which might account for the numbers of Tufted at YVP, although there's far more disturbance there. 6 Whooper Swan* flew over heading east. A Buzzard and a male Kestrel were both quite active. There was a mixed flock of c70 Rooks and Jackdaws feeding on the lower slopes of the Nab. Other species seen included Mistle Thrush, Blue, Great, Coal and LT Tit, Goldcrest*, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Greenfinch* and Goldfinch
Mammals:- extensive molehills

3 New species take me to 70.
