Local area - New Year's Day

YVP: 9.00-10.00am - pretty much as per Nora and Tommy's and Neils sightings - only additions were a water rail (heard only) and reed bunting both on Top Lodge. Also the 2 dippers seemed to be engaging in mating behaviour (well, it was a sunny day)
Chorley TC: 10.15am - manage to see the waxwing duo and an Ian Ball amongst the throng of the telephoto crowd
Common Bank\Copperworks Wood: 10.45-11.30am - highlights were single little grebe, treecreeper, GSW and, this evening, a tawny owl.
Total of 34 species for the day.
