Bramblings
Several bramblings in the garden this morning - all feeding on the ground underneath the feeders. I haven't managed to get a good shot yet, below is the best so far.

Re: Bramblings
And they are still around, coming down regularly yesterday and this morning, usually with the chaffinches

Re: Bramblings
It's been a finch fest this week with bramblings here daily, plus the odd siskin & bulfinch and large numbers of goldfinch and chaffinch. Finally I got a good picture.

Great shot Phil.
Re: Bramblings
Whereabouts in the area are you seeing these Phil?

Re: Bramblings
I live at the far end of Firbank in Euxton Lindsay - my garden leads down to Chapel Brook. The accidental trick is that I spilled some nyger seed whilst filling up the feeder and that seems to have brought them down. Now I fill the feeder and put a small sprinkle all around.
Re: Bramblings
Thanks Phil. A friend of mine lives not so far away from you, I will tell her to keep her eyes peeled, meanwhile I will try your nyger trick and see if I can tempt any to Withnell. I love seeing Bramblings but have never seen any locally.

Re: Bramblings
I'll be interested to know if it works Lindsay. What seems to happen is that the goldfinches turn up first and dominate the feeder, and that gives confidence to the chaffinches and bramblings to land.
