Ive had wintering blackcap in garden before Ian and ive noticed that they seem to have almost a hunch back look about them which shows in yours in yours photos , i can only put this down to birds putting weight on or just fluffing up feather wise to conserve energy .

Interesting point. He's certainly a bruiser and I wouldn't be surprised if it's weight as he really dominates the feeders.
