Healey Nab

Post by Neil Southworth »

Just Mallard, Coot and Moorhen on Top Lodge. One or two snatches of song from Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat and Song Thrush. Siskin and Redpoll calling around the wood as well as Great Spotted Woodpecker. Buzzard soaring over Top Lodge and kestrel near Blue Waters
Butterflies:- Large White 5-10, Gatekeeper 10-20, Meadow Brown 5-10, Peacock 2-5
Odonata (Nab pools):- Emperor, Common Hawker, Common Blue Damselfly 20-50, Blue-tailed damselfly 10-20
Mammals and amphibians:- dead rabbit, dead frog (apparently dessicated - had one similar on my lawn this week)

Quite a bit of fire damage in Nab Wood. Wimberry collected only sufficient for two small pies. :(
