An evening visit from the nook lane end , along the lane to wood lane farm produced several singing yellowhammer , song thrush , chiffchaff , several chirping tree sparrow , nuthatch , heron ,collard dove , highlight was finding a tawny owl being mobbed by a chaffinch , out onto the mosses produced several more yellowhammer and around 5 corn bunting , 3 whitethroat , blackbird , 3 pied wagtail , heard skylark , hunting kestrel , sparrowhawk carrying prey item , small numbers of woodpigeon , checked plenty of wheat and barley fields for quail but no luck .
