There was something of a hirundine fest at White Coppice today, with 40+ House Martins feeding over the quarry this lunchtime, when I returned at around 6ish there were 50/60 Swift in the same area.

Other sightings.
Dean Black Brook. Male Stonechat with a single fledgling. Reed Bunting. Wren 3.
Lots of Meadow Pipit, many carrying food.

Anglezarke Moors. Curlew 6. Red Grouse. Kestrel. Buzzard. Several Skylark.
3 juvenile Stonechat were near Simms along with 2 Common Snipe.
Also heard a distant Cuckoo calling from the direction of Rivington.

Lead Mine Clough. Mistle Thrush. Song Thrush. Male Redstart. Wren. Lesser Redpoll.

Yarrow Reservoir. 2 Mallard families with 4 and 7 ducklings

High Bullough Reservoir. Tufted Duck 7. Mallard 5.

Anglezarke Reservoir. Grey Heron. Oystercatcher 2. Great Crested Grebe 3. Canada Goose 7. Moorhen with 3 chicks. Great spotted Woodpecker 3. Nuthatch with young. Swallow 2.

Mammals. Grey squirrel at White Coppice and LMC. Stoat at Dean Black Brook.
