Swifts breed regular at 7 sites at eccleston , the church at mawdesley ( at the crossroads ) holds several pairs , at the croston the nelson pub holds several pairs and another site near to the yarrow next to church street , there is one nest site on the green at eccleston were the swifts are nesting behind a facia board and the gap is very tight the birds have to land on the render and squeeze themselves upwards behind the board to get to trhe nest great viewing :) .

3 Flew across Eaves Lane near Pennine Road and 2 flew across Cowling Brow near Brownley Street this morning. In previous years they have bred in the Ridge Road estate and the Devenport Way estates.

Four in Babylon lane area (Springfield Farm), Heath Charnock -plus four house martins -more investigation of actual nest sites needed.
