Post by gary lilley »

10 mallard on the douglas , several banded demoiselles nearby and an unidentified dragonfly , 1 buzzard , 10 corn bunting in one flock was unusual for the breeding season ( 1 heard singing in another area ) , a large field was being ploughed which had attracted lots of gulls while scanning through i counted 10 half grown lapwing chicks with several adults the chicks were walking through the hoards of l bb gulls which for me could have easily had one for a free meal but the gulls seemed happy on worms for their tea :) , also a single grey partridge on the field , over the railway line around 50 lapwing were on another ploughed field were there was also a late wheatear present ( have had a single bird lingering on into early june before ) , blackcap singing , chiffchaff , several skylark , golfinch , linnet , swallows , several whitethroat , 1 large brown rat .
