At last an evening walk along the Goit hoping for cuckoo and little owl
On the Goit
Dipper / grey heron in a tree / treecreeper going into a hole in a tree / plenty of blackbirds / song thrush and mistle thrush / Jay / Chiffchaff
Cuckoo was heard, then after a short scramble onto moorland was seen atop a dead tree
Also on moor land mipits / LT tits and plenty of woodpigeon
On return journey saw a male pheasant roosting high in a tree
Little Owl seen on dead tree past cricket ground. A few swallow seen around same area
Didn't realise the area now held migrating peacock

Re: Brinscall to White Coppice (And return)
Late evening walk after the Society's walk at Roddleworth
Birds seen/heard - Single Woodcock, flying in a circular loop or two (not roding yet, perhaps a little early), Little Owl and Tawny Owl heard.
Woodcock takes my Chorley area species list to 132.
