Belmont Reservoir and Holinshead Hall

Belmont Reservoir - Thousands of BH Gulls, 2 LBB Gulls, 1 Grey Heron, 4 Oystercatcher, 7 Greylag Geese, 8 Canada Geese, 1 Barnacle Goose, 6 Lapwing, several Mallard, 2 Common Buzzard over, several Carrion Crow, 2 Reed Bunting heard, 1 Common Snipe drumming was good to see.

Hollinshead Hall area (briefly) - 2 Wood Warbler heard (quite mobile and no pew,pew, pew), 1 Willow Warbler, Robin, Magpie, Chaffinch.

2 Orange Tipped White and 1 Green Veined White butterflies.


Wood Warbler takes my Chorley Area species count to 131.
